The term wicker is mostly used to describe a traditional kind of woven laundry basket, commonly known as ‘Ali Baba’ style, but it can cover a multitude of different options.
Woven rattan is, perhaps, the most common form but there are also baskets made from seagrass, water hyacinth and even palm leaves that can all come under this broad heading.
